I bought a Merkur 38M HD about two years ago and its been a great razor. Its a nice heavy razor and holds the razor nice and tight. Not too light or aggressive blade angle, its just right. No chattering like you get with loose top opening cheap Safety Razors. Every other week I scrub it with some CLR on an old toothbrush to remove the soap scum and it looks brand new. Great razor for someone new to wet shaving. I'm sure I'll be using this razor for many many years to come.
