The lap harp is one of the easiest instruments to play. Each lap harp utilizes a music sheet behind the strings. Just pluck the string above the note to play. It's as simple as the old-fashioned dot to dot, but with notes. You can just slide your music behind the strings and go! Each lap harp comes with 12 pieces of music, a pick, a tuning wrench and an extra string. (case sold separately).

A 22 string harp has a very similar range to a fiddle, so it will allow you to play a vast number of tunes. The main limitation will be a lack of bass notes, so if you are particularly looking to play a bass accompaniment to your tunes you will need a larger harp.

We are phasing out the wound strings for all Caswell harps. Therefore we will no longer be ordering wound strings for their models.
