This northern bog plant has charm. Its little leathery evergreen leaves are covered on the back with fascinating brown hairs. In early spring, the plant is covered with starry white flowers, which give way to coppery urn shaped seeds in fall. It grows 15 to 18 inches high and wide with intertwining stems. Native to northern bogs, it thrives in New England and other areas where summers are not extremely hot. A nice plant in the wild garden, give it sun.
