David Fulton Winery is 150 years old, and run by Fourth Generation Fulton Mather. The vineyard & winery is in St. Helena. This old vine Petite Sirah starts “chewy” for sure. Chalky tannins, black pepper and a sturdy core of deep, intense dark fruit. 45 minutes of air gives more blueberry essence, dark chocolate and dark tobacco flavors. Style-wise, it falls somewhere in between rustic and modern (velvety).
