What better way to finish off a great holiday meal than with a nice glass of Port? Our PortObispo is, of course, made in the traditional method; ripe red grapes are fermented and mixed vigorously for several days to extract maximum color and flavor. Then before the wine goes dry, it is fortified with wine spirits up to about 18% alcohol, at which point the yeast cease their activity and the wine is finished while still sweet.

The wine has an opaque, dark ruby color. The aromas are a mix of dark berries with a hint of vanillin and a slight nuance of pepper characteristic of Syrah. On the palate, the wine has cherry and vanillin flavors. The balance of residual sugar, acidity and alcohol makes this wine taste slightly less sweet than previous vintages. It will definitely appeal to those who do not like dessert wines that are cloyingly sweet.
