Hal Leonard Mozart Clarinet Concerto A
Mozart did not make extensive use of the clarinet until comparatively late in his career, but he wrote exquisitely for the instrument, and the two scores dedicated to his friend, Anton Stadlerthe Quintet, KV581 and the Concerto, KV622are among his most beautiful works. Both, incidentally, belong to the final year of his life. The Clarinet Concerto is in the conventional three movements, with music that transcends conventionality in its remarkable sense of repose and serenity, and what Bernhard Paumgartner... |

Hal Leonard Spohr Clarinet Concerto 1
Ludwig Spohr, who created quite a stir when he began conducting with an odd contraption known as a baton, was also one of the best known violinists of his day (i.e., the first half of the nineteenth century), and is primarily known today for his concerti and other solo works for the fiddle. That he was also quite adept at writing for other instruments than his own is proved by this C-minor Clarinet Concerto, his first of four such works, and a composition high on wit and solid craftsmanship. |

Clarinet Concerto Gr 5 Score/parts Full Score
Mozart originally wrote this concerto for a clarinet with an extended lower range, compared to the conventional instrument. As early as 1802, published versions appeared with registral changes, which made the concerto playable on instruments without the extra keys. When producing an edition for the conventional clarinet there are two choices to be made about the extra notes; Is it better to maintain the musical line, and hence transpose whole phrases or passages up an octave, rather than single notes... |

Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K. 622
The most beautiful and significant clarinet concerto in the history of music is now appearing in a Henle Urtext edition. The piano reduction is accompanied by two separate parts: an urtext edition of the original clarinet part as found in the early prints, and a reconstruction for basset clarinet, the instrument for which the work was originally written. The editor, Henrik Wiese, provides a preface and commentary with an in-depth discussion of the work's unusual source materials. Mozart's concerto... |

Clarinet Concerto No. 2 (Full Score)
Martin Cooper writes 'The concerto has a dashing first movement marked by jazz memories and a lento whose wistful melancholy also suggests the sentimental lyrical style of the 1930s. The leap from this to the crude whooping and the stomping rhythms of the finale was irresistible. . .' Daily Telegraph, 12 October 1976 |

Mozart: Clarinet Concertos & Arias
Basset Clarinet: An extended clarinet developed in the late 1780s by the virtuoso Anton Stadler and the Vienna court instrument maker Theodor Lotz, with an extra four low notes (E-flat, D, C-sharp, C) below the normal range of the clarinet. The exact construction of this instrument could only be guessed from vague contemporary descriptions until the discovery in Latvia in the early 1990s of a single engraving of the instrument Stadler used on his European tour from 1791 to 1795. This has made it... |
