Winemaker's Notes In keeping with Bord eaux's left bank tradition, this wine is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon. Mongravey is a rich full bodied wine that's quite velvety in the mouth. It's full of black fruit flavors along with rich chocolate and hints of mint. It's very approachable at this young age. It is a wine which will offer you pure instants of happiness and emotion. Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. This wine will mature in 8 to 10 years but will cellar for up to 15 years.

The soft, sexy 2009 exhibits a dense plum/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of raspberries, black cherries, black currants, smoke and forest floor. Opulent and round with an attractive viscosity as well as outstanding purity, depth and length, it should drink well for two decades. While not one of the longest lived wines of the vintage, it is among the most precocious, flattering and charming at present.

It is classic, soft and feminine yet nice moderate structure and balanced tannins. It contains chocolate with mint green notes and funk. Chateau Bastide Dauzac Margaux 2005 has plum and subtle raspberry fruit with notes of cassis and vanilla and a hint of toasty oak. It is delicious on the palate.

Superb, elegant, alive; words that best describe this bottle of wine from Chateau Larruau, which is found in Margaux, one of Bordeaux’s great areas. Margaux is one of my favorite growing areas in Bordeaux (ok, they all are) because it’s known for softer, easier drinking Bordeaux.
