Saturated purple. Potent blackberry and blueberry f lavors are complicated by smoky underbrush, sandalwood and floral oils. Impressively concentrated dark fruit liqueur flavors convey an impressively sappy personality, picking up velvety tannins on the long, sweet finish. Pretty remarkable Crozes-and this might actually be drinkable soon after release.

Jean-Pierre and Hélène Mucyn studied in Beaune before purchasing land in the northern Rhône. The house is the old rest house for ferrymen and their horses that crossed the Rhône River, some 300 meters from the house. All methods are traditional and the wines have a clear mineral quality. From the granite soils to the north of the appellation comes this rich wine which has pure cherry fruit, with a hint of liquorice. It is soft and ripe with elegant tannins giving lovely mouthfeel.
