2003 Guigal Crozes-Hermitage
This is a lovely Syrah from the Rhone. It has nice aromas of red berry, pepper, and dried flowers. On the palate, this wine showcases berries, plums, smoke and leather. It is a balanced acidity, good alcohol content, and a great finish. This is a great value for the price! |

2010 Chapoutier Crozes Hermitage les Varonnieres 1500ml
One of the finest wines of the appellation is the 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Les Varonnieres. Oodles of tapenade, black truffle, asphalt, blackberry and subtle barbecue smoke are all present in this opaque purple wine, which has great fruit, a full-bodied... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Les Varonnie
Saturated purple. Potent blackberry and blueberry f lavors are complicated by smoky underbrush, sandalwood and floral oils. Impressively concentrated dark fruit liqueur flavors convey an impressively sappy personality, picking up velvety tannins on the long, sweet finish. Pretty remarkable Crozes-and this might actually be drinkable soon after release. |

Bernard Ange Crozes Hermitage 2008
The wine was excellent - Bernard Ange Crozes Hermitage. It's 100% Syrah from the Northern Rhone. It had great black plum and blackberry fruit with great acidity. It's a puzzlement why more producers can't harness all that great fruit and yet make a lively wine. This one was peppery and bright, and I'll be happy to drink it again. |

Domaine Mucyn Crozes-Hermitage 2008
Jean-Pierre and Hélène Mucyn studied in Beaune before purchasing land in the northern Rhône. The house is the old rest house for ferrymen and their horses that crossed the Rhône River, some 300 meters from the house. All methods are traditional and the wines have a clear mineral quality. From the granite soils to the north of the appellation comes this rich wine which has pure cherry fruit, with a hint of liquorice. It is soft and ripe with elegant tannins giving lovely mouthfeel. |

Lot 297 2009 Crozes-Hermitage (Rhône Valley)
Cameron Confidential: Lot 297 2009 Crozes-Hermitage is from the same producer as the Lot 296, just the latter vintage – and what a tale of vintages it is. While the 2008 is lithe and harmonious, the Lot 297 2009 Crozes-Hermitage is rich and powerful – a feature of the fantastic 2009 harvest in France. Like the Premier Cru Sauvigny-les-Beaune, it would be ideal for this wine to see a couple of years in the cellar. That said, it’s a fun comparison and worth cracking a bottle of the 2009 just to compare... |

2007 Domaine Combier Crozes-Hermitage
- One of France's noblest black grape varieties, Syrah is known for its intense and distinctive perfume reminiscent of briar fruit, tar, spice and black pepper and its firm structure. One of few black grape varietals frequently vinified on its own, the best examples of Syrah come from the Northern Rhône, particularly Hermitage, but also Côte-Rôtie, Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage and St-Joseph. These wines are very astringent in their youth, though some Crozes-Hermitage and St-Joseph can be enjoyed young... |

2008 Le Vins de Vienne Crozes-Hermitage
2008 Le Vins de Vienne Crozes-Hermitage (100% Syrah). The vineyard of Crozes-Hermitage is not as old as its prestigious neighbor. During the 20th century it developed towards the south, where it replaced fruit orchards. This is the most recent and biggest appellation in the northern part of the Rhone Valley. The soil is made up of a granite parent rock, covered by alluvial flint stone or smooth pebbles mixed with a high percentage of clay. This wine is chiefly derived from bought-in grapes. The parcel... |

This is very tight now, with a wall of iron-clad structure holding the core of blackberry, cassis and black cherry fruit in check. Notes of tar, iron and sweet tobacco lurk in the background. The long, long finish is all minerally cut. A brick-house Crozes that demands cellaring. Best from 2013 through 2020.J.M. |

2009 Jaboulet Crozes Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert
The greatest Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert since the magnificent 1990 is the 2009. Jaboulet has nearly 100 acres in this appellation, and the 2009, which is bursting with potential, represents a great buy for Syrah lovers. 2009 Pierre Gaillard Crozes-Hermitage
The Gaillard family has always done things differently and two of the many attributes that set them apart from the rest of the northern Rhône's monster production houses is their dedication to small-batch winemaking and their nose for terroir. This savvy runs in the family as it was Jeanne, Pierre's daughter, who sniffed out this perfect, petite plot in Crozes-Hermitage, believing that if the family dedicated as much attention and love here as they do their own Côte Rôtie vineyards, the results... |

Delas Freres 'Le Clos' Crozes Hermitage
Product Description 'The Crozes Hermitage “Le Clos” cuvée has a deep ruby red color, with garnet tinges. The nose shows aromas of stewed black fruit (cassis and blackberries). As it opens up, it reveals hints of leather and game. The palate is perfectly balanced, with a combination of suave delicacy and considerable volume. The finish is lifted by flavors of very ripe black cherries.' |
