"There is a noticeable but discreet note of wood present though not enough to really detract from the floral and white peach suffused nose that is in keeping with the floral character of the mineral-driven, dense, powerful and quite serious flavors that have a touch of sweetness on the precise and explosive finish. While there is only moderate Chablis character present now, I suspect that it will become more pronounced with bottle age." (BH)

Domaine des Malandes 2006 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains Vieilles Vignes
A very fresh nose reveals hints of mineral reduction, citrus and an interesting vegetal note that marries into racy and intense medium-bodied flavors that brim with a fine minerality as well as a saline on the mildly short finish. This seems on the awkward side today and I suspect that it will be notably better as it progresses through its élevage. Benefit of the doubt offered
