Dare we say this is our favorite Teller lacecap
This lovely specimen has become a favorite at the nursery. It is always one of the first hydrangeas to bloom and lasts well into fall. The large petals form a head that is usually six to eight inches wide. We like to call it Teller Purple but this pH sensitive beauty is just as beautiful as a deep rosy pink or a deep cobalt blue. Another sturdy lacecap, Eisvogel is one that can be dried and used as a cut flower due to its sturdy thick stems and leaves. |

Blue Titmouse Lacecap - trade gallon
Deep pigmentation in the sterile sepals set Hydrangea macrophylla Rotschwanz apart from other garden center varieties. It is from the breeding program in Switzerland and among the group known as the "Teller Series" all of which are lacecaps and tend to break dormancy in late winter or early spring so are somewhat more at risk to late winter frosts. With that in mind, if your garden is unfazed by such weather, this is a true beauty. 5-5. Zones 6-9. |

Blue Billow Lacecap - 1 gallon
One of the earliest of the lacecaps to bloom for us, Hydrangea serrata Blue Billow is modest sized at 4 x 6. On acid soil its lacecap blooms are an intense, dark iridescent blue. It is also notably cold hardy. Ranks as one of the best blue lacecaps - a sturdy early bloomer. Part shade. Zones 5 - 9. |

Big, big lacecap, huge
I suspect this is a renamed variety that is closely related to the Mariesii family of hydrangeas (Blue Wave, Lemon Wave, Lilacina, Perfecta, White Wave) with its humongous blooms, darkest green leaves and stunning summer show. Sterile flowers start out white but fade to blue in acidic soils and pink in more neutral soils. Fertile florets are pink, purle or blue, again depending on the pH of the soil. Blooms come later in the season. Longest tapered leaves are a graceful reminder that this is... |
