92 points Allen Meadows ( Burghound ) : "(from a 2.5 ha parcel of 35+ year old vines -- two thirds of the blend is from Chapelot and the remainder from Pied d’Aloup). This is also highly expressive with notes of mineral-based reduction, white peach, pear and sea shore nuances that continue onto the rich, salty and quite pure medium-bodied flavors that possess an attractive succulence on the vibrant and ever-so-slightly austere finish. The 2009 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre emerges from the glass with layers of silky fruit and a crystalline precision that is hard to capture with words. The wine floats across the palate with inimitable grace and classiness. Richness in the fruit (peach and apricot) is very nicely balanced with floral and minty overtones. This is a terrific showing from Billaud-Simon. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
