Cons: there was insuffient thermal compound on the HSF from AMD. I spent a week trying to figure out why my new build was shutting down after a few minutes until i noticed my temps rising in bios. after confirming my heat issues with the MB outside of the case I removed the HSF to find only a small amount of compound on the CPU, just a little around the edges. After cleaning the thermal compound off and applying some arctic silver 5, everything was fine and temps were very good as stated above...

this is such a good price for this CPU . of course the socket 754 one is $10 less, that is a very good choice also, but this runs cooler, is easier to overclock (i got it to 2.6, which is the same as a 4000+!!! so basically i got a $300 CPU for the $120 i paid at that time) and socket 939 is by far the most trusted and best socket as it supports dual channel and is cheap for very good performance. if you overclock, get this cpu, but if you dont overclock and dont want to, i would get a 3500+ for...
