after both my husband & I have broken a handle off of a plastic measuring cup, I decided to go with these. they really aren't that heavy. sometimes I don't have the "steadiest" hand when measuring & the extra weight helps a lot with that. every measuring cup is marked on the inside, like the 1 cup has the 1/2 cup mark on it, etc... there's no way myself or my hubby can break these so I am sure they will last. I use these almost everyday & love them.

A couple years ago I bought my dad a really pricey set of Cuisinart cups that nested beautifully and had short little handles that were great for scooping out of a narrow container, but the first time we unpacked them and put them on the counter we found they just keeled over at the slightest change in wind. Amco Pro 4-pc measuring cup set
Measuring cups sized to the top rim usually work better in obtaining exacting measures, since you can use a scraper, spatula or ruler to level solids. To more accurately gauge measures on thick glass cups that have graduated markings, check the measure on a level surface, and from the side of the cup. It is all too easy to make a mistake in a measurement if you view glass cups markings from the top.
