On this all new set of tunes Mann sets her wry and introspective lyrics against layers of haunting, but effective, instrumentation. Considering that her previous works were semi-acoustic affairs this is a step in a new direction. Not too worry, she pulls it of in spectacular fashion as usual. Her tough but tender delivery is perfect for these new songs about loves lost and found, and then lost again somehow. Her voice never sounded better.
