This is another great find from an unnamed NY designer's sample room! The base fabric is a black sheer and drapey silk chiffon, and the embroidery is intricate and beautiful, in a pale gray-white tone (PANTONE 11-0602 is approximate). There's a 7" plain silk selvedge, then a 14" embroidered area, and then 24" of plain silk that goes the rest of the way across. The the drapey photo below is shown with the fabric turned, so imagine the selvedges at the top and bottom of that photo. Make a lovely blouse...
