These clamps are well constructed and sturdy. Soft pads are also available as a seperate item at HF. They are a "Quality", low price alternative to many of the name brand clamps available at the "Big Box" stores (and in my experience even better than some). A light coating of WD40 makes them work even better. They hold well, as long as you use the right size for the job.
