These made for a knock down connection that was rock solid for the arts & crafts bed I made for my daughter. I mortised them in just slightly below the surface 1/64" on both the post and bed rails and this created an extra friction fit between the wood parts that made an exceptionally solid connection. This worked out well on the 1-1/2 x 9" rails that I made because of the extra wood around each of the rail brackets . I used #8 x 3" particel board screws with a type 17 point self drilling to mount...
