These are my first pair of booties so I have nothing to compare it to. I used them for Windsurfing in 8 degrees Celsius water and it kept my feet warm. The only thing is that it seems like some water gets in and you feel it sloshing around, not a very big deal for Windsurfing or Sailing. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

The quality and the design of the boot is great especially for the price. However, I wear 91/2 or 10 size shoes and shot for the size 9 on the boot. Wrong! If you even a bit over 91/2 I would go with the size10 boot. I will be ordering that soon. I do not think I will have any concern for being too large and washing around in it with the band over the arch, heel band and split-toe.

Got these for winter surfing in NJ. They fit well, tight at first like other reviews said, but they loosen after a couple times. Plenty warm and do the job well for about half the cost of other 5 mil boots. I like these because they are not covered with velcro straps and other stuff all glued on making it look like a cross training shoe. Kind of just an old school boot that does what it's supposed to do. I'll probably get another pair so I have a dry set every day.

I picked up a pair of these boots about a month ago as a replacement for some O'Neill booties that I had been using for a good 8-9 years. I surf in Southern California... mostly in and around LA County. These things are great... very comfortable and very warm. They also aren't nearly as bulky as my old booties. High quality, super warm. Great for surfing here in Alaska, not so great for paddling the kayak; they're so thick it's tough to keep my fingers curled around the paddle (but that's my problem and has nothing to do with the quality of the gloves). If you're going to use them for paddling you might want to go with a 3mm or 1.5mm. Overall, a great choice for cold water surfing.
