I just ordered and installed ten of these bulbs. One had a partially removed front plastic cover which I was able to reattach. The other made crackling and sizzling sounds and smelled like the ballast burned up when I first tried to turn it on. I have had good success with the 2700K version of these bulbs I purchased in the past. They are the highest wattage R30 CFL floodlights I can find.
