We tried so hard to show you the exact color of this beautiful raw silk dress, but couldn't quite get it right. I would call the color oatmeal -- almost wheat. What makes it so special is the intricate beading at the bodice in both the front and the back. More intricate detail is on the skirt in the way the fabric has been sewn. After studying design in Madrid, de la Renta began his fashion career under the tutelage of Cristobal Balenciaga. De la Renta later moved to Paris, where he worked as a couture assistant to Antonio Castillo at Lanvin. The influence of the two great Spanish designers can be seen in de la Renta's work.
