The Medieval swords of the era were forged with the traditrional wheel pommel and slightly curved quillions. This sword is classified by Oakeshott as being a Type XIV, with a wide pointed blade suited for both thrusting and cutting. The original can be seen on page 124 of Ewart Oakeshott's "Record of the Medieval Sword".
