Louis Comfort Tiffany loved dragonflies and often used them in his famous lamps and art glass masterpieces. Symbols of hope and joy, two dragonflies are crafted from hand-cut, jewel-toned stained glass joined by lead-free solder. Each is 4 ¾" x 4 ¼", finished with a 3" hanging chain to brighten a window. This suncatcher has 3 individual strings of suncatchers. These have been beaded with blue and silver, purple metallic, silver, and clear glass decorative beads. The bottom bead is a hematite rectangular bead with a peach colored spiral on them. The bottom beads, both the hematites and the transluscent Rose colored beads have been wirewrapped with peach colored copper wire. The top ring has decorative glass beads that match the 3 dangly pieces...

This contemporary dragonfly suncatcher was handcrafted by Hamid Emami in his Southwest Texas studio. Hamid uses stained glass, glass beads, copper wire, agates and metal. The glass is individually wrapped with copper foil, then soldered to free form wire figures or agates to create the unique look of this suncatcher.
