1970s Embroidered Silk Robe
Shanghai, China. The front neckline embroidery, with its beautiful open work, is wonderful, but there are lovely little touches everywhere. The hem has embroidered scallops on larger scallops with floral motifs above, the front opening has small scallops with little designs, and the sleeve ends are also beautifully decorated. A "Peony" label says size 34, and the measurements are approx. 15" across the shoulders, 36" bust, 36" untied waist, up to 41" hips, and 52" length. Excellent condition.
