These pretty miniature yellow and white flowers even have some baby's breath coming up in the middle!

This extremely showy wildflower is a short-lived perennial(also considered an annual and biennial), but will reseed itself and has a nice long season of bloom. It is a work horse of a plant for controlling erosion and is very useful in restoration projects! Given it's long bloom time, it is a lovely garden plant as well. It makes a nice cut flower, attracts butterflies and is resistant to deer!

I gave it a five star because the flower is beautiful. I would not recommend buying this from Gurneys, the flower I purchased never came up. I called and they said I could get a replacement. They said I could wait. I decided to wait until next year (before my year ran out) to order. 1 week before the time ran out I FAXED my order. They refused to accept it. They said it had to be mailed. By then it was to late. I feel cheated and lied to by this company.In my opinion there are alot better places...

The principal differences between this variety and Rudbeckia fulgida var. fulgida are in the flowers, leaves, and in height. Var. sullivantii grows to about 2 feet. It has large flower heads, 2 to 3 inches across with somewhat lax petals or rays, on branched stems. Individual plants of var. sullivantii would have fewer but larger flower heads than those of var. fulgida. Also, the former has much larger leaves which extend further up the stem.
