With his 1962 album POT LUCK, Elvis Presley--one of the main men who shook the world with the wild thing called rock & roll--moves away from the feral sounds of his youth towards a more polished pop sound. Along with the ripe vocal backgrounds, there's more of a country influence, more of a "shuffle" feel rather than a rockin' sound that dabbled in Latin rhythms and moods. Here, Elvis sounds less brash, more overtly romantic--the song "You'll Be Gone" has more melodramatic angst than an entire season...
