The Pearl DCL-300P Drop Clutch allows the hi-hats to be closed when playing double bass. Normal hi-hat action is resumed by simply stepping on the footboard. The locking bottom nut will not loosen no matter how hard you play. A unique play compensator maintains prefect latch to clutch contact for no-play performance.

This drop clutch isn't what I would expect pearl to come out with. The clutch is decent but the sleeve over the bar wears down very quickly(Mine wore down in less than a year). Their is also a hole in the top of the cluch where the latch catches quite easily. It does work quite well but is sometimes a pain fixing some of the issues with it and while playing at a gig, getting the latch caught so it gives a much different sound than if the cluch was fully released by the latch. Overall just ok
