I have had this grater for several years now and have no issues with it. It grates Parmesan and Romano nicely for me. I use it frequently and often store it in the fridge with cheese in it. I have never had any issues with it breaking or feeling like it might break. I let the tool do the work though (I don't squeeze real hard) and it makes nicely grated cheese. I usually wash it in the dishwasher completely disassembled on the top rack with the small parts and the drum in the basket on the bottom...
