As far as sci-fi films go these days, BFE was made on a shoe-string budget, and admirably so. It was a shame that there wasn't more money in the coffers. I thought it was a classic sci-fi story, and would love to see a major big-budget re-make in 10 or 20 years. It's pure sci-fi, with enough social commentary to make you smile. An enjoyable remake of the classic, however the overuse of slow motion when mot needed and the over development of very minor plot points in the film really threw off the pace. Excellent CG work on Kong himself, just wished everything else looked as real and as believable. Thought the DVD audio was less than impressive for this scale of picture.
