The Peanuts 60th Anniversary Book.
Commemorating 60 years of Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts, this book has over 1,800 of the classic comic strip's most memorable cartoons. The book traces the evolution of the four panel gag strip, beginning with the first cartoon from October 2, 1950 (showing Charlie Brown without trademark zigzag shirt) and culminating with the final strip, published February 13, 2000, the day after Mr. Schulz's death. Memorable cartoons include the first appearance of Lucy's psychiatric help booth on March 27, 1959, when Charlie Brown asks how to get over his depression and Lucy replies, "Snap out of it! Five cents, please," and Snoopy's maiden voyage to the moon on March 10, 1969, preempting the Apollo 11 by several months. Mr. Schulz's own words provide insight into character and story development and his iconic artistic style. Hardcover; 544 pages.
