As a turn-based strategy game, Blokus follows very simple rules. Each player starts with 21 polyominoes, shapes consisting of one to five squares. I got this game on a whim 4 years ago when I was surfing for some Christmas ideas for my then 6 yr old son. We have played countless games since. I have bought and given this game at least 10 times, all with great feedback from the recipients. Many of our friends have gone out and bought it on our recommendation and have loved it. We love this strategy game. We've gotten a lot of our family members and friends hooked on it. We bought this one to give away as a gift because we don't want to give away ours. If you like Tetrix or anything with fitting odd shapes together this will be the game for you. Each game will be different, unpredictable and surprising.
