Art for Kids Furniture French Armoire with Drawers Nursery Rhymes

August 05, 2008: This is an action movie, not the Bruce-Willis-action kind, but action packed for sure. Robin Williams is always wonderful, and the 2 kids in it are good actors too, although I'd say this movie is not for really little kids, as it can be kind of scary for them. Not just a movie for kids, my husband and I really like this movie, or anything with Robin Williams for that matter. Awesome special effects.

Picture this: Edward Gorey, Tim Burton and the Brothers Grimm get together over snifters of absinthe to collaborate on a children's nursery book. The result might look something like author Gris Grimly's Wicked Nursery Rhymes, a slim, sly compendium of "charmless tales" for kiddies who would have rather listened to Marilyn Manson than Mozart in the womb. Anyone who knows children knows their squeals of delight at wickedness and naughtiness, all in fun, as a way of reinforcing our society's taboos.

July 13, 2009: My son is only 10 months old so his attention span is very small. He likes books that rhyme but he hasn't really gotten into this book yet. I like it since the illustrations are cute, colorful and funky and you do not have to read the same "story" every time. It also reminds me of hearing and reading my favorite nursery rhymes when I was growing up.
