these are a cotton flannel material, as opposed to traditional birds-eye or gauze cloth diaper material. They make nice, soft burp cloths, and are great for quick cleanups. I was afraid the flannel wouldn't be very absorbent, but once they've been washed they are very nice. Before washing tho, spit up seemed to roll off of them like they'd been tefloned, LOL, so wash them first!
