We have a semi-contemporary kitchen. We spent quite awhile looking for barstools that were contemporary but not too modern. This design is very clean and looks good. The swivel function is, however, a bit stiff. These stools are a good short term purchase. But if you want a stool that's really comfortable and readily swivels, you might want to consider something else.

You can not beat the price for a tall bar stool. I have a bar top on a half wall and 29" stools were just too short. These 34" stools are perfect. The construction is really sturdy and will last a long time. Although, the steel band that's used as a foot rest can hurt your feet if you just have socks or just bare feet and like to spin around, but a pair of shoes or some slippers will solve this problem.
