This hand-carved and painted box is still beautiful after many years of use. The winter scene shows a mother and son walking to get water from the village. The detail is wonderful and the colors still vibrant. The sides of the box still have almost perfect veneer and although the paint is peeling in spots, the photos show the craftsmanship of this treasure from old world Russia.
