Comments: It does a good job of softening water without adding anything in, such as commercial softeners do. It is a slow going process (I get about 7-8 gals per hour), but what else can one expect out of a D/I system? I have Discus in my aquarium and have used this system for years, it does a great job for the water quality of my fish (they even breed and rear their fry very well in it), and I plan to use it for as long as they make it. For the price and ease of use, it can't be beat.
