BODUM Santos Stovetop Vacuum Coffee Maker
The magic begins as the water starts to boil in the bottom glass pot; a vacuum is created to pull the water to the upper glass bowl. The water then mixes with the ground coffee, giving off a delightful aroma. After a couple of minutes, the coffee then flows back down to lower coffee pot ready for serving (the grounds remain behind in the upper bowl). The coffee that you make in this way is superb.

9. As soon as the coffee has run out of the glass funnel into the jug, remove the funnel. The coffee is now ready to drink. Clean the funnel by removing the coffee grounds, releasing the filter hook from the glass tube and rinsing both thoroughly with hot water. You may wash thoroughly with a mild soapy water, using care not to bump or damage the glass funnel.

Allow 18-25 minutes for brewing. Though the water boils rather quickly when using the unit on the stovetop, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the coffee to settle back in the carafe, depending mostly on the size of the coffee grounds.
