Then you have to redrill all the holes because none of them are large enough for the dowel rod supplied. The main problem with this trebuchet is that there is no way to control the release point. The wooden release pin is at a fixed angle. The instruction seem to indicate that shortening it (an irreversible action) will cause an earlier release, but I found this not to be true. The angle needs to be adjusted. All of my projectiles were release on a nearly horizontal trajectory and went about six feet. The sling design is also very poor--projectiles won't stay put prior to launch. A big disappointment...
