Let's face it... in spite of his genius, many of Ray Charles' records where hit & miss affairs, mostly due to inconsistant song choices. This release, however, sustains a mood throughout. More romantic than most of his releases, with gorgeous string arrangements, this may be his prettiest album of all. That's not to say that it doesn't also have a huge dose of soul (how could it not?).
