Snood Video Games for Nintendo Game Boy Advance
Snood Video Games for Nintendo Game Boy Advance

Video Games. Snood, a reference to a type of character created by David Dobson, is a fixed-screen puzzle game reminiscent of Taito's popular Bust-A-Move series. Snoods are launched from the bottom of the screen, via a Snood Cannon which can rotate left or right, and "stick" when they reach other Snood faces at the top of the screen. If three or more connected faces match, they disappear. In a concept similar to Tetris, the idea is to remove all items, in this case Snoods, from the screen. Four varieties of gameplay include some modes where the top of the level gradually descends toward the bottom of the screen. In Time Attack, you play 50 preset levels of increasing difficulty that must be completed within a set time limit, while Puzzle mode involves levels with a limited number of Snoods and a play arena that changes in size based on success. Journey mode is a series of games with increasing difficulty levels, and Classic gameplay features randomly generated levels affected by the difficulty level chosen

Lumines Plus Video Games for Sony PlayStation 2

Video Games. Lumines comes to PS2 in Lumines Plus, following the success of the original release on PSP. The console version adds new "skins" and a head-to-head battle mode for competition against the computer or another player. Produced by innovative rhythm game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi (Space Channel 5, Rez), Lumines is an action puzzle that sets Tetris-style block-packing to the groove of music. The game pieces are small blocks in two colors. Four-block squares -- usually containing blocks of both colors -- drop from the top of the screen, and the goal is to arrange them to create rectangular patterns of four or more blocks of the same color as the pieces pile up at the bottom of the screen. A "timeline" rhythmically sweeps left-to-right across the screen and clears away any color-matched rectangles, causing the remaining pieces to drop. As in Tetris, if the pile of blocks stacks up to the top of the screen, the game ends. As the game progresses, pieces fall more quickly from the top of the screen,

Marble Madness/Klax Video Games for Nintendo Game Boy Advance

Video Games. DSI rolls out two 8-bit classics in this double-game cartridge, redesigned for play on the Game Boy Advance. In Marble Madness, players maneuver a marble through a series of sloping, maze-like courses, trying to reach the end of each course within a given time limit. While steering the marble along narrow pathways, twisting turns and steep ramps, players must be careful of hazardous drops, acid pools, dangerous enemies (such as Marble Munchers), and other obstacles. Exceptional performances "charm" players with extra time. One of the more inventive Tetris-inspired games, Klax has enough unique features to avoid being labeled with such pejorative terms as "clone" and "ripoff." The descending tiles format is obviously borrowed from Tetris, and lining up three puzzle pieces of the same color is taken straight from Columns. However, several play elements give Klax its own identity and strategies. ~ All Game Guide

It's Mr. Pants Video Games for Nintendo Game Boy Advance

Video Games. It's Mr. Pants is an action-puzzle game, with similarities to Tetris and the more recent Denki Blocks. To clear each game board, players arrange an allotment of variously shaped puzzle pieces, by color, into larger shapes . Different game modes have players working with a pre-selected series of shapes, clearing a disorganized board, or working towards the highest score possible within a time limit. So what about this "Mr. Pants" fellow? The game's title (and mascot character) may have come from an inside joke at the developer's U.K. studios; long before this GBA game was announced, sharp-eyed Rare fans noticed occasional mention of the then-mysterious Mr. Pants, at the company's website and elsewhere. ~ T.J.
