These non-tapered mandrels are great for wide bands or wax models. The aluminum cannot withstand being pounded by a hammer. Each "step" of the mandrel is one size. This will eliminate any size taper when working on wider bands. The steps range in size from 3-1/2 thru 15-1/2. Each step is 1 full size large than the previous (eg. 3-1/2, 4-1/2, 5-1/2, etc.).

Having straight walls on the mandrels makes flipping the ring to achieve a balanced stretch a thing of the past. This quality ring stretcher and reducer can stretch plain band rings from size 1 to 15, and reduce plain band rings up to 12mm wide.

Enlarge and reduce rings quickly with this great tool. Traditional stretchers use a tapered mandrel to stretch rings in two steps (first on one side, then on the other), often yielding uneven and disappointing results. This stretcher uses a stepped, straight-walled mandrel to enlarge rings uniformly in just a single step. Stretches sizes 115. Also includes reducer plate for gently compressing rings to smaller sizes.
