Description more details We combined 74% Pheasant Run Vineyard Syrah with 26% Lewis Vineyard Syrah. The wine was aged for 19 months in 100% French Oak of which 18% of the barrels were new. While Lewis Vineyard provides both the extremely dark color and balanced acid profile, our Estate fruit is the true star here. It begins with an earthy elegance, then moves on to the blueberry and plum flavor. Hints of raspberries on the long, fine-grained finish round out this beautifully complex wine. It should...

McCrea Cellars Syrah 2006- Washington
The 2006 Syrah is a blend of fruit from two excellent Washington State Vineyards. It was aged nine months in French oak barrels, approximately 20% new. 2006 was a very warm year overall, one of the top three or four in the past ten years. It began with a cool and wet spring that gave way to a long, rather hot summer, resulting in early sugar maturation. Early fall brought cooler weather towards mid-September, helping to extend hang time and sustain good acidity. The sugar to pH ratio was in a fairly...

Cline Cellars Cool Climate Syrah 2006
The Cool Climate Syrah has great color, rich blueberry and black pepper character combined with a cedary-smooth finish and bright acid. The terroir of our "Lazy C" and "Lazy P" vineyards bring forward the cracked pepper and berry notes that are typical of Syrah from a cooler climate. This wine pairs well with seafood pasta dishes, tri-tip steak smothered in wild chanterelles, and chicken satay. The Cool Climate Syrah is very approachable now but will also age beautifully for 5 to 7 years.

Bell Cellars Canterbury Vineyard Syrah 2006
Our Syrah exhibits wonderful varietal character. Deep ruby in color with spicy, peppery fruit aromas, the wine has good acidity, with a rich, luscious mouthfeel and soft, elegant tannins. The oak flavors are in balance with the fruit acidity and fruit flavor to yield an appealing wine, bright on the palate, with great depth and concentration. Often described by our guests as "yummy," this delicious wine is a nice alternative for those seeking a rich, round, wellbalanced yet softer style wine. A great...

"The 2006 Syrah John Lewis offers aromas of smoke, meat, game, and blueberry. Made in a similar lean style, it gains its structure from acidity. The flavors are attractive and wine has solid length. It will have an aging curve similar to that of its cousins. To summarize, these are wines to tickle the intellect. They are the polar opposite of the wines produced by the likes of Cayuse and K Vintners. Id love to be a fly on the wall in a conversation between Greg and Christophe Baron. Personally, I...

Pax Wine Cellars Alder Springs Syrah 2006
Black plums, licorice, tobacco and pure mineral driven red fruit dominate the aroma. Fresh strawberry, spiced black plum, and partially ripe blackberries lead the forward attack while white flowers and violets complicate the inner mouth bouquet. The finish is all about fine tannins, mineral and vibrant fresh strawberry. A very graceful wine disguised as a California Syrah.
