This coming-of-age tale follows Sonja, a pretty, blonde 16 year old, throughout a summer spent in the suburbs. While trying to avoid her persistent ex-boyfriend and her nosy mother, Sonja takes comfort in the relationship she develops with Julia, a carefree girl who rescues Sonja on her scooter and tells her stories of a faster-paced life. Just happy at first to have Julia around as a friend, Sonja soon realizes her feelings towards Julia may be more romantic in nature.
