I tried this letter opener on ten different envelopes. It only worked well once! It usually cuts open only part of the envelope, but not the whole envelope. If the envelope is even slightly thick, it doesn't work at all. Unless my opener was defective (it has a blade and a piece of rubber, so I don't think it was), this deserves no more than 2 stars. If you think it was my 'technique,' you should know I experimented carefully, and the results were all the same. I returned it to Amazon.
