The first born son of a wealthy Mexican businessman, Simon is doted upon by his father as a baby; as he grows up, however, he displays a predilection for dressing in women's clothing and playing with dolls that Don Andres finds increasingly disturbing. Eventually finding himself ousted from home by his father and completely dispossessed, Simon journeys to the city to find work as a nightclub performer, which his father later unwittingly patronizes.
