Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2005 750ml
Rated 89. Good deep red-ruby. Dark berries, black cherry and licorice on the nose, with a less exaggerated oak element despite the fact that this was aged in 95% new American barrels. Not particularly sweet, but the mid-palate offers better grip and lift than the 2004, with laid-back flavors of currant, plum and tobacco leaf. Finishes with substantial, slightly dry tannins and good persistence. Incidentally, the production of this wine was increased in the early part of this decade and is now in...

Silver Oak, Alexander Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 750ml(RP-90-92pts)
90-92 points Robert Parker: "The 2001 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignons reveals a saturated ruby/purple color in addition to a lusty, sweet perfume of cassis, spice box, licorice, and lavender. The wine is ripe and medium to full-bodied, with low acidity, abundant glycerin, wood, and alcohol, and admirable texture as well as length. It will be at its finest between 2003-2014." (08/02)

2005 Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley
"The 2000 growing season will be remembered for the harvest that wouldnt end. A mild spring induced even flowering and a good set. By mid-September it had warmed up and harvest was in full swing. Then the weather shifted radically and the end of September was unseasonably cool. Extra time on the vine was beneficial for wine quality and harvest was finally completed on November 1st, the longest in our 29 year history. Winemakers Tasting Notes: The 2000 Alexander Valley is a classic, rich Cabernet...

Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 750ml 2005
Cabernets can be mellow and mild, hearty and rich. It has a deep red color, with the primary taste being black currant. Other overtones can include blackberry and mint. Traditionally aged in oak, the wine also takes on an oaky, vanilla flavor. Higher quality cabs age extremely well (although a bit slowly), developing a sprinkling of five or six tastes within it.

"The 2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon beautifully expresses the full aromatic ripeness of this exemplary vintage. It is full bodied and yet refined, and consistent in its color, aroma, palate and finish. It has a dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice. It is seamless on the palate with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2032." Winemaker's Notes

Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 1995 750ml
Rated 94 - The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is performing far better after a year of bottle age. This dark ruby/purple-colored, seductive wine offers blazingly intense aromas of cigar box, smoky oak, and jammy black currants with a hint of Provencal herbs. Ripe and full-bodied, with low acidity, and a fleshy, succulent texture, it is a wine to drink over the next 14-15 years. - Robert Parker
