Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2004 750ml
Rated 90. Good deep red. Black cherry, plum syrup and lead pencil on the nose, with a lightly roasted character and a meaty nuance. Quite pliant on the palate, with a much more velvety mouthfeel than the Alexander Valley offering and more mid-palate stuffing to support its toothcoating tannins. Here the wine's herbal element lifts the fruit. Not exactly fat but nicely sweet. Finishes with very good breadth and length. -Stephen Tanzer.

This mature, well-built Napa Valley Cabernet is a luscious, deep brick-red color. Ripe black-cherry flavors and a cassis core, are nicely integrated with sappy French oak tannins. These firm, yet resolved tannins are supple, silky and elegant on the finish, allowing for both short-term enjoyment, or a long term reward, when cellared.
