This carseat has been around a long time..... If you read the instructions you can put the bar in the back up and it creates the recline for rear facing and forward facing children. It does sit to straight if you leave that rear bar down. The weight requirements just mean that it can seat a child under 1 rear facing up to 35lbs(any heavier and another carseat would be needed) but if they are over 1 but not 35lbs it can seat that child forward facing as long as the child is at least 22lbs and up...

We bought this carseat after my daughter outgrew her infant seat. It's affordable & the design is cute, but those are the only pros I would give it. The straps are a hassle, not easy to adjust at all. Plus, they are so long in the back that if you have to take it out and move to another vehicle, they drag on the ground and can be tripped over. Also, my daughter figured out how to unclip the chest strap and will undo it while we are in motion. Not good at all!! I would not recommend this. Pay...
