A quality product for the money, especially with how expensive other types of podiums are. Yes, this is laminated particle board, but the finish is durable and attractive and the overall product is sturdy. The sliding side shelf is convenient for setting water glasses, video projectors, or flowers. One problem is that the middle shelf is moveable and not securely attached so several people have accidentally knocked it down. Also, it is a bit tippy and top heavy when you try to roll it on carpet....
