February 12, 2008: Sade is an instrumental writer in the history of sexuality, and for this alone he is worth reading. On top of this, he has a razor wit and his satire drips from these pages, especially the titular 'Justine'. He brings his entire society (and possibly ours) into question and shows us its dark underbelly. Definitely recommended, if you are not light of heart or stomach.
