A rare and splendid watercolor of the Barque "SACREMENTO" 1864. Titled at the bottom "Barque Sacramento G.B. Hussey Entering Malta Harbour, 1864" attributed to Maltese artist D'Espito. Capt. Hussey had Nantucket connections. Original mahogany veneered frame. Ex Coll Channing Hare, Ogunquit(well known antiques dealer in the 1930's). Very good condition with bright blue coloration. RARE Original WW2 produced cigarrette papers for import and sale in the Ukraine. The package is in Ukranian language and was produced in the German region called Saybusch in the Solali factory. Saybusch was a region in Poland that was in existence ONLY during the years 1939-1945 (dont believe me look it up on wikipedia...) A.B.&C. Extra large paper is 36"x24" with an extravant bouquet of exotic orchids and lilies-of-the-valley against an extraordinary background of soft pearlized green. The timeless style of the bouquet was popular from the early 20th century through the 1950's. The paper is from the late 1940's, and the pearlized finish is very rare in papers of this age. The center bouquet motif is 12" square. Magnificent.
